Arteria maxillaris of the Donkey (Equus asinus)

Anatomia, Histologia, Embryologia, 1984
AbstractGross anatomical examination of the organization of the maxillary artery was carried out in 10 formalin embalmed, latex injected adult donkeys. The results indicate that although there are variations from other domestic animals, the distribution of this artery in the donkey is similar to that of the horse.

Equus asinus (Donkey)

1967
Characterization of two small pairs of acrocentrics is arbitrary; they could also be considered subtelocentrics in some preparations. In contrast to other equidae, the X of the donkey has a more terminal centromere. The Y is the smallest acrocentric.

Trichophyton mentagrophytesinfection in the domestic donkey (Equus asinus asinus)

Annals of Tropical Medicine & Parasitology, 1981
A clinical description is given of a severe outbreak of ringworm among 69 adult domestic donkeys. Direct examination of skin scrapings revealed large numbers of branched arthrosporic hyphae in the skin scales and endo-ectothrix hair invasion. The causative agent was isolated and identified as Trichophyton mentagrophytes.

Space availability influence laterality in donkeys (Equus asinus)

Behavioural Processes, 2011
Cerebral lateralization is the portioning of the cognitive functions between the two cerebral hemispheres. Several factors, like embryological manipulations, light exposure, health conditions, sex and age can influence the left-right brain asymmetries and contribute to increasing the variability in the strength and direction of laterality within most ...

Hunger vs thirst in the burro (Equus asinus)

Physiology & Behavior, 1980
Abstract The burro ( Equus asinus ) can withstand deprivation of both food and water for up to 48 hours even in summer heat. This ability depends in part on his capacious cecum and colon where food is stored and is digested by bacterial action for hours after his last meal.

Characterizing the Serum Proteome of Donkeys (Equus asinus)

Journal of Equine Veterinary Science, 2020
Serum and plasma are commonly used in clinical practice considering the widely accepted fact that the "normal" protein expression pattern of a healthy animal changes under disease conditions. We herein used a label-free mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics approach to characterize the serum proteome of donkeys. A total of 277 unique proteins
