Reproduction in domestic animals = Zuchthygiene, 2021
This study aimed to determine the usefulness of color and pulsed Doppler modes for the accurate diagnosis of donkeys suffering from subfertility to determine whether testicular vascularity assessment could be an indicator for sperm functionality.

Trichophyton mentagrophytesinfection in the domestic donkey (Equus asinus asinus)
Annals of Tropical Medicine & Parasitology, 1981A clinical description is given of a severe outbreak of ringworm among 69 adult domestic donkeys. Direct examination of skin scrapings revealed large numbers of branched arthrosporic hyphae in the skin scales and endo-ectothrix hair invasion. The causative agent was isolated and identified as Trichophyton mentagrophytes.

Space availability influence laterality in donkeys (Equus asinus)
Behavioural Processes, 2011Cerebral lateralization is the portioning of the cognitive functions between the two cerebral hemispheres. Several factors, like embryological manipulations, light exposure, health conditions, sex and age can influence the left-right brain asymmetries and contribute to increasing the variability in the strength and direction of laterality within most ...

Hunger vs thirst in the burro (Equus asinus)
Physiology & Behavior, 1980Abstract The burro ( Equus asinus ) can withstand deprivation of both food and water for up to 48 hours even in summer heat. This ability depends in part on his capacious cecum and colon where food is stored and is digested by bacterial action for hours after his last meal.

Characterizing the Serum Proteome of Donkeys (Equus asinus)
Journal of Equine Veterinary Science, 2020Serum and plasma are commonly used in clinical practice considering the widely accepted fact that the "normal" protein expression pattern of a healthy animal changes under disease conditions. We herein used a label-free mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics approach to characterize the serum proteome of donkeys. A total of 277 unique proteins

Ultrastructure of the Hinny (Equus asinus × Equus caballus) Seminiferous Epithelium
Anatomia, Histologia, Embryologia, 1994SummaryThe gonads and the germinative cells of 3 male hinnies were studied with light and transmission electron microscopy with the aim to observe the development of germ cells and verify the morphological modifications due to the hybridization. The hinny seminiferous epithelium presented Sertoli cells and spermatogonia with normal features and ...
