Using PVA–borax hydrogels as carriers for off‐the‐shelf artificial sweeteners to fight multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii. These soft, biocompatible hydrogels rapidly reduce bacterial viability within multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii biofilms by more than 99% within one hour and sustain antimicrobial activity over time, while demonstrating safety in both

Under NIR irradiation, PTCPP generates ROS to eliminate MRSA biofilms and promote M1 macrophage polarization for phagocytosis. After bacterial clearance, the material is phagocytosed by macrophages, shifting their polarization to M2 phenotype via metabolic reprogramming, which synergistically enhances anti‐infection therapy and wound healing.

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.
