Characterization of the lectin from the bulbs of Eranthis hyemalis (winter aconite) as an inhibitor of protein synthesis.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1993
The lectin from Eranthis hyemalis has been previously characterized as consisting of two polypeptide chains covalently linked by disulfide bond(s) (Cammue, B. P., Peeters, B., and Peumans, W. J. (1985) Biochem. J. 227, 949-955). We have further characterized the biochemical properties of the lectin and demonstrated that it possesses the property of ...

Genetic differentiation that is exceptionally high and unexpectedly sensitive to geographic distance in the absence of gene flow: Insights from the genus Eranthis in East Asian regions. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol, 2022
In our study, under the low probability of gene flow, genetic differentiation between populations was significantly high and genetic distance generally reflected geographic distance in the genus Eranthis. We suggest that significantly high level of genetic differentiation is due to the marker type used, genetic drift, and selection.

Within-leaf variation in embolism resistance is not a rule for compound-leaved angiosperms. [PDF]

open access: yesAm J Bot
Abstract Premise Hydraulic segmentation, caused by the difference in embolism resistance across plant organs, provides a sacrificial layer of cheaper plant organs, like leaves, to protect more costly organs, such as stems, during drought. Within‐leaf hydraulic segmentation has been observed in two compound‐leaved tree species, with leaflets being more ...

Leucotelium cerasi (Bérenger) Tranzschel 1935, novel pathogen for mycobiota in Serbia [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik Matice Srpske za Prirodne Nauke, 2020
During the field studies on a strictly protected plant species Eranthis hyemalis (winter aconite) in Serbia, it was noticed that certain individuals were infected by some species of parasitic fungus. According to the structure of spermogonia and

Az Eranthis hyemalis (L.) Salisb. felfedezése és az Adenophora liliifolia (L.) Ledeb. ex A. DC. új előfordulása a Gömör–Tornai-karszton

open access: yesBotanikai Kozlemenyek
A rövid közleményben két védett növényfaj utóbbi években talált új előfordulásáról számolok be. 2025 februárjában az Eranthis hyemalis egy kis állománya került elő a Baradla-tetőn Aggtelek községhatárában, melegkedvelő tölgyes aljnövényzetében. A faj a Gömör–Tornai-karszt flórájára új.

Reproductive Toxicity of Pomegranate Peel Extract Synthesized Gold Nanoparticles: A Multigeneration Study in C. elegans

open access: yesJournal of Nanomaterials, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
C. elegans is a preferential model for testing environmental toxicity of compounds including nanomaterials. The impact of multigeneration exposure of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) on the lifespan and fertility of C. elegans is not known and therefore is investigated in this study.
