Protograph-Based Globally-Coupled LDPC Codes Over the Gaussian Channel With Burst Erasures

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper presents two types of protograph-based globally-coupled low-density parity-check (GC-LDPC) codes formed by a new edge spreading operation. This operation is called the global edge spreading.

Capacity of Quantum Erasure Channel Assisted by Backwards Classical Communication

open access: yes, 2009
We present a communication protocol for the erasure channel assisted by backward classical communication, which achieves a significantly better rate than the best prior result. In addition, we prove an upper bound for the capacity of the channel.

Femtosecond‐Laser‐Induced Physical Unclonable Random Maze Structure for Storage‐Free Encryption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Femtosecond‐laser‐induced gold random maze structures serve as multimodal physical unclonable functions for storage‐free encryption. Their stochastic optical, electrical, and Raman responses are generated by plasmon‐assisted Marangoni formation and converted into AES‐compatible keys without permanent secret‐key storage, offering a portable route toward

High-Throughput and Area-Efficient Rotated and Cyclic Q Delayed Constellations Demapper for Future Wireless Standards

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Applying rotated and cyclic Q delayed (RCQD) modulation on the transmitter side improves the performance of the receiver in case of fading channel conditions along with erasures.

Unveiling Near-Capacity Code Design: The Realization of Shannon's Communication Theory for MIMO Channels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this contribution we show how Shannon’s coding theory could be realized for Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) channels with the aid of EXtrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) charts and the Maximum-Aposteriori Probability (MAP) algorithm.

Reconfigurable Selector‐Only Memory (SOM) for Scalable Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Highly scalable reconfigurable neuromorphic devices are critical for addressing continual‐learning challenges in artificial intelligence. However, the scalability of existing reconfigurable devices is severely constrained by limited operating margins and insufficient process maturity.

Field‐Frustrated Cooperative Distortions: Suppressing Jahn‐Teller Ordering via Microwave Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microwave annealing decouples local Jahn‐Teller distortions from long‐range cooperative ordering in CuFe2O4, stabilizing a metastable cubic phase that remains locally distorted yet globally symmetry‐frustrated. Synchrotron XRD, PDF, XPS, and in situ thermal cycling reveal how non‐equilibrium MW‐phonon interactions suppress cooperative orbital‐lattice ...

Low-Complexity Erasure Insertion in Frequency-Hopping Spread-Spectrum Communications Subjected to Fading and Partial-Band Interference

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper we propose two novel low-complexity, low-delay erasure insertion schemes, namely the Output Threshold Test (OTT) and joint Maximum Output and Ratio Threshold Test (MO-RTT).

A tighter Cut-Set bound for the multi-terminal erasure channel without side information [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper our recent results in the capacity of single relay erasure channels are used to derive a new and tighter cut-set bound. We initially present a simple and intuitive approach to derive the classical cut-set bound in General Multi-Terminal ...

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses
