56.6 dB high gain L-band EDFA utilizing short-length highly-doped erbium rare-earth material [PDF]
In this paper, we experimentally investigate the performance of an efficient high gain L-band erbium-doped fiber (EDF) amplifier structure utilizing short-length highly-doped erbium rare-earth material with a single pump source.

An amplification for single pass operation was demonstrated by using Zirconia-based erbium-doped fiber (Zr-EDF). 1 m is the optimum length due to overall high gain and minimal noise figure from 1520 nm to 1620 nm. The highest gain is 28.62 dB at 1555 nm with the input signal and pump power are fixed at -30 dBm and 130 mW, respectively. At input signal -

Synthesis of silicon oxynitride‐doped silicon is demonstrated for the first time with a control in the refractive indices. This technique with a single deposition step also yields high reflective Bragg gratings (BGs) on bulk substrates as well as on the tip of optical fibers.

Broadband Nonlinear Photonics in Zeolite‐Based Selenium Chains
Se nanochains are successfully prepared by trapping Se species in the circular 1D channel of AlPO4‐5 (AFI) crystal. Subsequently, the Se@AFI composite materials are used as a broadband saturable absorber to generate the stable mode‐locking pulse in the fiber laser at 1564 and 1043 nm.

860 femtoseconds mode-locked fiber laser by Gallium co-doped erbium fiber (Ga-EDF)
We proposed and demonstrated a high power mode-locked fiber laser using a new type of gain medium which is called as Erbium Gallium co-doped fiber (Ga-EDF). The mode-locking mechanism is enabled by a graphene-based saturable absorber, which is fabricated

Enhanced Erbium–Zirconia–Yttria–Aluminum Co-Doped Fiber Amplifier
An efficient optical amplifier is demonstrated using an improved erbium-zirconia-yttria-aluminum co-doped fiber (Zr-EDF) as the gain medium. With a combination of both Zr and Al, we could achieve a high erbium doping concentration with an absorption loss

Use of Simple Octa-Ring Configuration for Tunable Erbium Laser With Single-Mode Output
In this paper, an erbium-doped fiber (EDF) octa-ring laser system with continuous-wave (CW) tunability and stable single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) output is presented and investigated.

Ultranarrow-Linewidth Brillouin/Erbium Fiber Laser Based on 45-cm Erbium-Doped Fiber
We demonstrate an ultranarrow-linewidth Brillouin/erbium fiber laser (BEFL), in which 45-cm commercialized erbium-doped fiber (EDF) acts as both the Brillouin and linear gain media. The Brillouin pump threshold of the BEFL is in submilliwatts. Its 980-nm
