Cavity Wavelength on Erbium-Doped Fiber Ring Laser Depending on Fabry–Pérot Etalon Steering Angle

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study presents the liquid crystal Fabry–Pérot etalon (LC-FP) as the preferred laser wavelength tuning solution within a erbium-doped fiber ring laser architecture. The laser cavity wavelength can be adjusted by applying varying voltages to the LC-FP.

860 femtoseconds mode-locked fiber laser by Gallium co-doped erbium fiber (Ga-EDF)

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
We proposed and demonstrated a high power mode-locked fiber laser using a new type of gain medium which is called as Erbium Gallium co-doped fiber (Ga-EDF). The mode-locking mechanism is enabled by a graphene-based saturable absorber, which is fabricated

Controlled Stark shifts in Er$^{3+}$-doped crystalline and amorphous waveguides for quantum state storage

open access: yes, 2006
We present measurements of the linear Stark effect on the $^{4}$I$_{15/2} \to$ $^{4}$I$_{13/2}$ transition in an Er$^{3+}$-doped proton-exchanged LiNbO$_{3}$ crystalline waveguide and an Er$^{3+}$-doped silicate fiber.

Tunable Single-Longitudinal-Mode High-Power Fiber Laser

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics, 2012
We report a novel CW tunable high-power single-longitudinal-mode fiber laser with a linewidth of ∼9 MHz. A tunable fiber Bragg grating provided wavelength selection over a 10 nm range. An all-fiber Fabry-Perot filter was used to increase the longitudinal

Application of the cross-gain modulation in erbium-doped fiber to increase the effective spectral bandwidth of an interrogator

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики
This study investigates the impact of Cross-Gain Modulation (XGM) in erbium-doped fiber on the effective spectral bandwidth of a fiber-optic sensor interrogation system employing Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) and a Distributed Feedback (DFB) laser diode ...

Strong Linewidth Reduction by Compact Brillouin/Erbium Fiber Laser

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2014
We demonstrate the strong linewidth reduction by a compact Brillouin/erbium fiber laser (BEFL), in which 4-m erbium-doped fiber (EDF) acts as both the Brillouin and linear gain media.
