Stable Multiwavelength Erbium-Doped Random Fiber Laser [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics, 2018
A stable multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) based on random distributed feedback (RDFB) is presented. The random EDFL consists of a half-opened linear cavity in which a mirror forms one end, while the other end is connected to RDFB of a 25-km-long single mode fiber.

Reduction of the intensity noise from an erbium-doped fiber laser to the standard quantum limit by intracavity spectral filtering [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The high frequency intensity noise of a tandem fiber Fabry–Perot erbium-doped fiber ring laser is reduced to the standard quantum limit, with a 0.5 dB experimental uncertainty.

Inhomogeneous Gain Saturation in EDF: Experiment and Modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers can present holes in spectral gain in Wavelength Division Multiplexing operation. The origin of this inhomogeneous saturation behavior is still a subject of controversy.

Wideband and flat gain series erbium doped fiber amplifier using hybrid active fiber with backward pumping distribution technique

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
A modern wideband and flat gain erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is suggested and accomplished, by employing a recently fabricated hafnia-bismuth-erbium doped fiber (HB-EDF) and zirconia-erbium doped fiber (Zr-EDF) as a hybrid active fiber.

Passively mode-locked laser using an entirely centred erbium-doped fiber [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper describes the setup and experimental results for an entirely centred erbium-doped fiber laser with passively mode-locked output. The gain medium of the ring laser cavity configuration comprises a 3 m length of two-core optical fiber, wherein ...

Erbium-implanted high-Q silica toroidal microcavity laser on a silicon chip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Lasing from an erbium-doped high-Q silica toroidal microcavity coupled to a tapered optical fiber is demonstrated and analyzed. Average erbium ion concentrations were in the range 0.009–0.09 at.

LD-Pumped Random Fiber Laser Based on Erbium-Ytterbium Co-Doped Fiber

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2019
In this paper, a cladding-pumped erbium-ytterbium co-doped random fiber laser (EYRFL) operating at 1550 nm with high power laser diode (LD) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for the first time.
