A case of hemobilia caused by a pseudoaneurysm resulting in obstructive cholangitis in a patient who underwent plastic stent placement for pancreatic cancer (with video)

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
Abstract Hemobilia, or hemorrhage within the biliary system, is an uncommon cause of stent obstruction associated with bile duct strictures that are rarely observed with plastic stents. Reports of a pseudoaneurysm as a cause of hemobilia after plastic stent placement are also rare.

Ampullary Neuroendocrine Tumors: Multicenter Experience and Emerging Perspectives on Endoscopic Treatment

open access: yesRambam Maimonides Medical Journal
Background: Ampullary neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are extremely rare, representing 0.3%–1% of gastrointestinal NETs and less than 2% of periampullary cancers. Due to their rarity, there is limited data on their natural history, management, and outcomes.

Optimal timing of precut sphincterotomy to prevent post‐endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis in difficult biliary cannulation: A retrospective study

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
Abstract Objectives Precut sphincterotomy is often performed when bile duct cannulation is difficult; however, the former has a higher risk of complications than conventional methods. Early precut reduces the risk of post‐endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis (PEP).
