Evaluating spatial characteristics and influential factors of industrial wastewater discharge in China: A spatial econometric approach

open access: yesEcological Indicators, 2021
Although China’s total industrial wastewater discharge (IWD) has shown a downward trend in recent years, it is still at a relatively high level. Based on the panel data gathered from 30 Chinese provinces from 2000 to 2017, this study attempts to ...

A novel method based on high‐resolution imaging spectroscopy to predict fine‐root traits and the economics space of fresh tree roots

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Maps of the estimated root nitrogen concentration in the < 0.5‐mm‐diameter classes of 20 woody species based on the imaging spectroscopy using the shortwave infrared spectral region. Summary Tree fine‐root morphological, anatomical, and chemical traits are important to reflect belowground resource acquisition strategies to support tree growth, but ...

Controlling Proton Migration in Oxide Heterostructures by Interfacial Chemical Potential Mismatch

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 62, 3 August 2026.
Interfacial reconstruction of the proton chemical potential enables control of proton migration in oxide heterostructures. In TiO2/VO2 heterostructures, we found that increasing the TiO2 capping layer thickness by only several nanometers modulates the thermal stability of protons inserted into VO2.

Simulations on time-of-flight ERDA spectrometer performance [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2016
The performance of a time-of-flight spectrometer consisting of two timing detectors and an ionization chamber energy detector has been studied using Monte Carlo simulations for the recoil creation and ion transport in the sample and detectors. The ionization chamber pulses have been calculated using Shockley-Ramo theorem and the pulse processing of a ...

Distinct Foliar Uptake Pathways for Phosphorus and Nano‐Hydroxyapatite in Potato Revealed By Synchrotron μCT and ³³P Imaging

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 8, Page 5563-5579, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) has a high phosphorus (P) requirement, yet its shallow root system and the strong P‐fixing capacity of many soils limit the effectiveness of soil fertilisation. Foliar application of nano‐hydroxyapatite particles (nHAPs) has emerged as a promising alternative P fertilisation practice.
