Defect Engineering in Ti‐Doped Ta3N5 Thin Films for Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting: Electronic Structure Modulation and Charge Carrier Dynamics

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
The crystal structures of Ta3N5 with Ti substitution at different Ta sites. A detailed schematic band diagram shows that Ti doping removes some trap states acting as recombination centers, thereby reducing recombination and improving photoelectrochemical performance.

Landscape Transformation in Ethiopia’s Abaya–Chamo Sub‐Basin: Patterns and Dynamics of LULC Change (2016–2021)

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Soil Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study analyzed the spatiotemporal dynamics of land use and land cover (LULC) from 2016 to 2021 across six representative landscapes—Abaya Guangua, Arba Minch, Chencha, Hobicha, Loka Abaya, and Mierab Abaya—within the Abaya–Chamo sub‐basin (ACSB) of southern Ethiopia.

Modeling Soil Erosion Risk Areas Using the RUSLE Model Coupled With GIS and RS in Haro Bake Watershed, Yabello District, Southern Ethiopia

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Soil Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Soil erosion is most severe in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world, especially in developing countries like Ethiopia. Estimating the extent of soil loss and understanding the spatial distribution of erosion‐prone areas are critical for planning and effectively implementing soil conservation measures with limited resources.

Laser modification of graphene oxide layers

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
The effect of linearly polarized laser irradiation with various energy densities was successfully used for reduction of graphene oxide (GO). The ion beam analytical methods (RBS, ERDA) were used to follow the elemental composition which is expected as ...

AlScN/GaN Multichannel Heterostructures Grown by Metal–Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 23, December 8, 2025.
Growth of AlScN/GaN multichannel heterostructures by metal–organic chemical vapor deposition is demonstrated for the first time. The growth of such structures is detailed through changes in growth parameters, such as the number of periods and the thickness of the channel layers, as well as structural studies.

Chronically Stable, High‐Resolution Micro‐Electrocorticographic Brain‐Computer Interfaces for Real‐Time Motor Decoding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 45, December 4, 2025.
A high‐resolution micro‐electrocorticographic (µECoG) brain‐computer interface (BCI) for real‐time motor decoding is reported. The application of flexible, scalable µECoG electrode arrays overcomes the insufficient spatial resolution in conventional ECoG BCIs.

On the formation of blisters in annealed hydrogenated a-Si layers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Differently hydrogenated radio frequency-sputtered a-Si layers have been studied by infrared (IR) spectroscopy as a function of the annealing time at 350 Celsius with the aim to get a deeper understanding of the origin of blisters previously observed ...
