Testosterone, Endothelial Health, and Erectile Function [PDF]

open access: yesISRN Endocrinology, 2011
Experimental and clinical studies have reported that testosterone has a critical role in the maintenance of homeostatic and morphologic corpus cavernosum components, essential for normal erectile physiology. Although the exact mechanisms mediated by testosterone in erectile function are still under investigation, recent research has suggested an ...

Temporal Changes in Erectile Function and Endothelium-Dependent Relaxing Response of Corpus Cavernosal Smooth Muscle After Ischemia by Ligation of Bilateral Internal Iliac Arteries in the Rabbit

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2012
We aimed to elucidate the changes in the relaxation function of corpus cavernosal smooth muscle (CCSM) and erectile function using acute penile ischemic rabbits. Relaxation response to acetylcholine (Ach) was unchanged at 3 days after ischemia.

Towards Climate Neutrality by 2050: Role of Aluminum for Short‐ and Long‐Term Energy and Hydrogen Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The Aluminum energy storage cycle involves the use of renewable energy for Al production and the generation of heat (dry cycle) and heat and H2 (wet cycle) for energy production via Al‐steam combustion. ABSTRACT Reaching climate neutrality by 2050 requires innovative long‐term energy storage (LTES) solutions beyond the current use of fossil fuels ...

The role of mechano-regulated YAP/TAZ in erectile dysfunction

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5is) constitute the primary therapeutic option for treating erectile dysfunction (ED). Nevertheless, a substantial proportion of patients, approximately 30%, do not respond to PDE5i treatment.

Impact of Abdominoperineal Resection on Postoperative Male Sexual Function After Minimally Invasive Rectal Cancer Surgery: A Subgroup Analysis From the LANDMARC Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Abdominoperineal resection (APR) after minimally invasive rectal cancer surgery was associated with significantly higher rates of erectile and early ejaculatory dysfunction compared with anal‐sparing surgery. Although ejaculatory function showed partial recovery over time, erectile dysfunction persisted up to 12 months postoperatively.
