Sediment Quality of Ergene River Basin: Bio–Ecological Risk Assessment of Toxic Metals

open access: yesEnvironmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2019
Ergene River Basin is located in the north-west part of Marmara Region of Turkey. There are many industrial enterprises on its basin and as well as the majority of these facilities are located on the upstream of the basin. Therefore, Ergene River is one of the rare river ecosystems that are contaminated almost from the source area. The aim of this ...

Assessing the return flow in human-induced rivers using data-driven and hydrologic models case study: Ergene River Basin

Stochastic Environmental Research and Risk Assessment, 2023
We propose a method for distinguishing return flow from streamflow time series in rivers located in urban and industrial watersheds. The trend analysis is conducted using the Mann–Kendall method, while streamflow time series are divided into pre- and post-change sets using the Mann–Whitney change point method.

Research on the sedimentation and erosion problem of the Ergene River Basin in Western Turkey and precautions to control it

Eurasian Soil Science, 2007
The objective of this study was to asses the rainfall-runoff-sedimentation relationship from directly measured data since 1972, to find out the effect of the present land use and soil cultivation techniques on the sediment yield, and to offer practical solutions to the problems in the Ergene River Basins located in the European Part of Turkey.

A STUDY ON AIRBORNE AND WATERBORNE MICROFUNGI OF MERIC-ERGENE RIVER BASIN, TURKEY

The qualitative and quantitative distributions of airborne and waterborne microfungi were determined in the streams at Meric-Ergene River Basin which is one of the biggest wetlands of Turkey. A total of 17 localities at 8 different streams in the basin were sampled in June 2009 and June 2010. While a total of 51 species within 25 microfungi genera were

Benthic Macroinvertebrate Diversity of Rice Fields in the Meric-Ergene River Basin, Thrace, Turkey

Rice fields are temporary wetland agro-ecosystems that could be inhabited by benthic macroinvertebrates. A survey of benthic macroinvertebrate diversity of rice-fields in the Meric-Ergene River Basin, an important rice-production area in Turkey, was carried out during the cultivation cycle (April - October 2016).
