Ergodic Capacity of Intelligent Reflecting Surface-Assisted Communication Systems With Phase Errors

IEEE Communications Letters, 2020
In this letter, we investigate the ergodic capacity of the intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-assisted communication system with quantization phase errors, which is different from existing works assuming ideal continuous or discrete phases. The ergodic

On the Ergodic Capacity of mmWave Systems Under Finite-Dimensional Channels

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2019
Due to the underlying sparse structure of the mmWave channels, which indeed makes the exact closed-form capacity expressions inherently hard to derive, there has been less research on the ergodic capacity of mmWave systems.

On the ergodic capacity of multi-hop wireless relaying systems

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2009
The ergodic capacity in Rayleigh fading of multi- hop wireless transmission systems employing either amplify- and-forward relaying or decode-and-forward relaying is studied, assuming channel state information is only known at the receiving terminals. Two upper bounds based on Jensen's inequality and the harmonic-geometric means inequality as well as an

On the Ergodic Capacity of MIMO NOMA Systems

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2015
Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is expected to be a promising multiple access technique for 5G networks due to its superior spectral efficiency. In this letter, the ergodic capacity maximization problem is first studied for the Rayleigh fading multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) NOMA systems with statistical channel state information at the ...

Simple Expression of Ergodic Capacity for Rician Fading Channel

IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2010
In this letter, a new exact expression of the ergodic channel capacity for a Rician fading channel is provided that is written in terms of exponential integral and incomplete gamma function. Also, a good approximation of the Rician fading channel capacity is derived from the exact expression and its accuracy is numerically verified.
