On the Ergodic Sum-Capacity of Decentralized Multiple Access Channels

IEEE Communications Letters, 2016
We consider a fast fading AWGN multiple-access channel (MAC) with full receiver CSI and distributed CSI at the transmitters. The objective is to evaluate the ergodic sum-capacity of this decentralized model, under identical average powers and channel statistics across users. While an optimal water-filling solution can be found for centralized MACs with

On Capacity of Ergodic Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Channels

2005 Australian Communications Theory Workshop, 2006
Capacity results for Gaussian matrix channels are investigated where the receiver has knowledge of the channel realization and the transmitter has knowledge only of the channel statistics. We extend beamforming results and examine arbitrary ergodic random vector channels, under the condition that the transmit covariance is independent of the ...

On Ergodic Capacity of Spectrum-Sharing Systems in Fading Channels

IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2009
In spectrum-sharing systems where the secondary user (SU) opportunistically accesses the primary user (PU)'s licensed channel, the SU should satisfy both the transmit power constraint of the SU transmitter and the received power constraint at the PU receiver. This letter studies the ergodic capacity of spectrum-sharing systems in fading channels.

Algebraic lattices achieving the capacity of the ergodic fading channel

2016 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW), 2016
In this work we show that algebraic lattices constructed from error-correcting codes achieve the ergodic capacity of the fading channel. The main ingredients for our construction are a generalized version of the Minkowski-Hlawka theorem and shaping techniques based on the lattice Gaussian distribution.

Approaching the Ergodic Capacity of the MIMO Channel with Lattice Codes

2016 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2016
Many aspects of lattice coding and decoding under time-varying multiple-antenna systems remain unexplored. This paper studies the achievable rates using lattice codes for the multiple-input- multiple-output (MIMO) point-to-point channel with ergodic fading and channel state information at the receiver.

Simple and Accurate Low SNR Ergodic Capacity Approximations

IEEE Communications Letters, 2018
Some of the existing ergodic capacity approximations for the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) region may lack accuracy. To overcome this, we derive two simple yet accurate Pade approximations for the low-SNR ergodic capacity. These approximations utilize the channel moments, which need not be updated for each distinct SNR value.
