The Individual Weighted Ergodic Theorem for Bounded Besicovitch Sequences

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1982
AbstractLet (X, , μ) be a σ-finite measure space, p fixed, 1 < p < ∞, T a linear operator of Lp(X,μ), {αi} a sequence of complex numbers. Ifexists and is finite a.e. we say the individual weighted ergodic theorem holds for T with the weights {αi}In this paper we show that if {αi} is a bounded Besicovitch sequence and T is a Dunford-Schwartz ...

Ergodicity, constants of motion, and bounds for susceptibilities

Physica, 1971
Abstract A theorem is proved, which expresses the time average of a correlation function in terms of canonical averages involving the constants of motion of the systems considered. From the theorem, a convenient expression for the difference between the isothermal susceptibility and the static isolated (or Kubo) susceptibility is obtained.

Bounded Geometry in the Supports of Ergodic Invariant Probability Measures

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1998
In this paper we put some techniques and methods of [Misurewicz, 1979; Hu & Sullivan, 1997; Hu & Tresser, 1998; Blokh & Lyubich, 1990; Martens et al., 1992] together to show that if a map f, from an interval I into itself with finitely many turning points, satisfies a new smooth regularity in [Hu & Sullivan, 1997] and is on the boundary

On ergodicity bounds for an inhomogeneous birth-death process

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
We obtain the conditions of weak ergodicity and explicit bounds on the rate of convergence for a model of stock order flows with nonstationary intensities.

Bounded ergodic constructions, disjointness, and weak limits of powers

Transactions of the Moscow Mathematical Society, 2014
Summary: This paper is devoted to the disjointness property of powers of a totally ergodic bounded construction of rank 1 and some generalizations of this result. We look at applications to the problem when the Möbius function is independent of the sequence induced by a bounded construction.

Strong bounded operators for ergodic averages and Lebesgue derivatives

Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems, 2009
AbstractThe goal of this article is to give a new proof of there being strong type (p,p) bounds, for anypwith 1>p>∞, for the class of square functions, oscillation operators and variation operators that arise when considering multiparameter differentiation and multiparameter ergodic averages.
