Fluorescence properties of ergosterol
Journal of Photochemistry, 1985Abstract Ergosterol is fluorescent in low temperature matrices as are several molecules with a 1,3-diene structure. The fluorescence lifetime of 3.3 ns and the fluorescence quantum yield of 0.19 have been obtained in a methyl-cyclohexane-isopentane matrix at 77 K.

SELECTIVELY IRRADIATED ERGOSTEROL
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1936Recent literature on vitamin D and ergosterol irradiation products has been voluminous and it is beyond the scope of the present paper to include more than a brief review of a part of this work. Those who have been interested are well acquainted with the history of the recognition of rickets as a deficiency disease, of the discovery that this disease ...

[Ergosterol as a measure of fungus growth in fodder. I. Ergosterol content of grain].
Archiv fur Tierernahrung, 1988Ergosterol was determined as a chemical indicator of fungal biomass in wheat (w), barley (b), oats (o), and grain corn (c). In samples selected by microscopy and odour as an indicator of good mycological quality the following contents (mg/kg dry matter) were found: 1.96 +/- 0.72 (w), 2.43 +/- 0.82 (b), 2.42 +/- 1.4 (o), 0.61 +/- 0.37 (c).
