Cup Deep Drawing Simulation of Commercially Pure Titanium for Varying‐Shoulder‐Radius Die Using Finite Element Method and Non‐associated Flow Rule

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 2, Page 827-837, February 2026.
Finite element simulations of deep drawing of commercially pure titanium sheets using single‐radius and varying‐shoulder‐radius dies are conducted. Two types of nonassociated flow rules are applied, and the results are verified by comparing them with the experimental results.

Cross‐Scale Study of DP780 Steel: From Crystal Plasticity Modeling to Failure and Formability Prediction

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 1, Page 252-267, January 2026.
A cross‐scale modeling strategy is developed to predict failure and formability of DP780 steel by linking microstructural features with macroscopic behavior. Crystal plasticity and macroscopic damage models are integrated and validated through nanoindentation, in situ bending, and finite element simulations.

Exercise Duration Modulates Cortisol Release and Chronic Cortisol Exposure Jeopardises T Cell Effector Functions

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 177, Issue 1, Page 94-105, January 2026.
Cortisol has been linked to poor cancer prognosis but can also be released during exercise. This study shows that transient cortisol exposure, as seen with exercise, does not impair T cell effector functions. In contrast, chronic cortisol signalling suppresses T cell functionality and promotes cancer cell proliferation, highlighting the importance of ...

Influence of Temperature on Scratch and Wear Properties of Technical Thermoplastics: Implications for Material Selection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 23, December 2025.
The share of technical thermoplastics is expected to grow further in the e‐mobility segment. In this study, a detailed temperature‐based tribological characterization of technical thermoplastics is performed. The tribological properties are discussed in terms of the dynamic mechanical properties of polymers at different ambient temperatures. A proof of

Machine Learning‐Based Automatic Scratch Performance Quantification on Polymeric Surfaces

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 37, October 5 2025.
The automated scratch performance evaluation framework. ABSTRACT Quantitative scratch resistance characterization constitutes an important step in the performance evaluation of polymeric surfaces. By applying the standardized ASTM and ISO scratch test methodology, the present work discusses an approach to automate scratch detection by applying a U‐Net ...

A phase 2A/B randomized trial of metabolic modulators intranasal insulin and empagliflozin for MCI and early AD

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Agents targeting metabolic/vascular disorders are promising candidates to treat Alzheimer's disease (AD) and enhance safety and efficacy of other therapies. METHODS In a 2×2 factorial double‐blinded randomized trial, participants with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), early AD, or who were amyloid positive received intranasal ...

DNA Methylation of COX‐2, IFN‐γ, TNF‐α, and LINE‐1 in Clinically Stable Periodontal Tissues Following Periodontal Therapy

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 11, Issue 5, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Epigenetic modifications such as DNA methylation play a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression in inflammatory diseases, including periodontitis. While previous studies have examined methylation changes during active disease or shortly after treatment, little is known about the epigenetic landscape of periodontal tissues ...

Optimization of austenitic and ferritic steels for deep drawing. Part 2: FEM analyses with damage development.

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity
Deep drawing of sheet metal is a crucial industrial process due to its high productivity and low cost per unit produced. Stainless steels are ideal for this process, given their high deformability compared to other steels.

Effects of the SGLT2 inhibitor dapagliflozin in early Alzheimer's disease: A randomized controlled trial

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Due to its metabolic effects, dapagliflozin, a sodium‐glucose transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, holds potential as an Alzheimer's disease (AD) therapeutic. METHODS We conducted a double‐blind, randomized, placebo‐controlled, parallel‐group, 12‐week single‐site study to investigate the effect of dapagliflozin in participants with ...
