Climate model projections of aridity patterns in Türkiye: A comprehensive analysis using CMIP6 models and three aridity indices

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 43, Issue 13, Page 6207-6224, 15 November 2023., 2023
The Pinna combinative index, the Erinç aridity index and the UNEP aridity index were used in this study to examine changes in aridity conditions in Turkey at the end of the 21st century. All the three indices disclose a strengthening of dry climate conditions in Turkey after 2041.

The Return of Debt Crisis in Developing Countries: Shifting or Maintaining Dominant Development Paradigms?

open access: yesDevelopment and Change, Volume 54, Issue 5, Page 954-993, September 2023., 2023
ABSTRACT In the aftermath of the COVID‐19 pandemic, much of the global South has been immersed in a debt crisis of a breadth and depth not seen since the early 1980s. Does Preoperative Modic Changes Influence the Short‐term Fusion Rate of Single Level Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion?—a Matched‐pair Case Control Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 15, Issue 9, Page 2309-2317, September 2023., 2023
The short‐term fusion rate of Modic changes (MCs) group is significantly lower than that of non MCs group. And the cage union ratio of the upper and lower endplates on the coronal and sagittal planes is lower in the MCs group than in the non MCs group. The fusion performance of n‐HA/PA66 and polyetheretherketone (PEEK) cage is similar in patients with ...

Phoxinus abanticus, a new species from the Lake Abant drainage in Türkiye (Teleostei: Leuciscidae)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, Volume 102, Issue 5, Page 1157-1167, May 2023., 2023
Abstract Phoxinus abanticus, a new species, is described from the Lake Abant basin. It is distinguished from Phoxinus species in Türkiye and adjacent waters by the presence of fewer lateral line scales (60–69, vs. 75–91 in Phoxinus colchicus, 75–90 in Phoxinus strandjae); a deeper caudal peduncle (caudal peduncle depth: 1.8–2.3 times in length, vs. 2.4–

Segmentation and Holocene Behavior of the Middle Strand of the North Anatolian Fault (NW Turkey)

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 40, Issue 11, November 2021., 2021
Abstract The North Anatolian Fault (NAF) in the Marmara region is composed of three parallel strands all separated by ∼50 km. The activity of the middle strand, which borders the southern edge of the Marmara Sea, is much debated because of its present‐day very low seismicity. This contrasts with historical, archeological and paleoseismological evidence,
