Environmentally Friendly Mesoporous Nanocomposite Prepared from Al-Dross Waste with Remarkable Adsorption Ability for Toxic Anionic Dye

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2019
In this work, a mesoporous nanocomposite composed of nanogibbsite (α-Al(OH)3) and nanosilica was prepared. Gibbsite nanoparticles (GNPs) with a crystal size of ≈38 nm were prepared from Al-dross industrial waste products in an acidic environment at 100°C.

Removal of Eriochrome Black T dye using Plant Based Bio-Adsorbent: A Review

open access: yesLetters in Applied NanoBioScience
Releasing Eriochrome black T (EBT) dye-carrying effluents into the water system has seriously affected plants, animals, and humans because of its carcinogenic character. Many typical methods have not been suitable for removing Eriochrome black T (EBT) dye because of their low efficiency, high processing cost, toxic by-product release, and more time ...

Assessment of Water Quality Around Mine Sites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
One of the major impacts of mining processes is the contamination of water bodies through mine water drainage, leakage of water exposed to minerals, water from soil heaps, acid mine drainage and mine water rebound.
