Evaluation of macadamia felted coccid (Hemiptera: Eriococcidae) damage and cultivar susceptibility using imagery from a small unmanned aerial vehicle (sUAV), combined with ground truthing. [PDF]
Analysis of RGB (red‐green‐blue) color images of macadamia felted coccid infestation acquired using an sUAV showed clustering of foliar damage that reflected cultivar susceptibility to macadamia felted coccid infestation. Abstract BACKGROUND Macadamia felted coccid, Acanthococcus ioronsidei (Williams) (Hemiptera: Eriococcidae), is a significant pest of

Host phylogeny and ecological associations best explain Wolbachia host shifts in scale insects
Abstract Wolbachia are among the most prevalent and widespread endosymbiotic bacteria on Earth. Wolbachia's success in infecting an enormous number of arthropod species is attributed to two features: the range of phenotypes they induce in their hosts, and their ability to switch between host species.

Biological Flora of Britain and Ireland: Viscum album
Mistletoe is a charismatic parasite of tree crowns with a long history of folklore and connections with Christmas celebrations. This, and its need for light, helps explain why it is most common in human‐made habitats across Europe. Once thought to benignly take just water and nutrients from its host it is now known to take carbon as well which can lead

Abstract The genus Phyllanthus is paraphyletic as currently circumscribed, with the genera Breynia, Glochidion and Synostemon nested within it. A phylogeny based on nuclear (ITS, PHYC) and chloroplast (matK, accD‐psaI, trnS‐trnG) markers is presented, including 18/18 subgenera and 53/70 sections.
