Calepitrimerus vitis(Acarina: Eriophyidae) on Grape Leaves

Annals of the Entomological Society of America, 1970
In 1938, Keifer erected the genus Calepitrimerus , which includes Epitrimerus vitis Nalepa. In 1942, he described deuterogyny in which the overwintering generation consists of only females which are morphologically different from the summer females or protogynes. Deuterogyny was found in phyllocoptine species on deciduous trees and shrubs. Later Keifer

The records and descriptions of Eriophyid mites hitherto described from tomato are discussed. A statistical examination was made of morphological measurements of the New Zealand tomato russet mite. The names of gall-mites occurring on tomato have been reduced to two: Acerialycopersici (Wolffenstein) 1879, the tomato erineum mite (causing the production

Notes on the Bionomics of Calepitrimerus Vitis (Nal.) (Acarina: Eriophyidae)

1973
Two distinct species of eriophyids damaging grapevines (Vitis vinifera L.) have thus far been found in Portugal: Eriophyes vitis (Pgst.) /(=Colomerus vitis (Pgst.) (Newkirk & Keifer, 1971)/, a gall mite causing erineum patches on the underside of the leaves, and Calepitrimerus vitis (Nal.), behaving basically as a rust mite; it is also known as ...
