Eriophyoid mites (Acariformes, Eriophyoidea) are microscopic chelicerates morphologically greatly preadapted to endoparasitism on plants. Members of at least six phylogenetically distant eriophyoid genera from two families homoplastically transitioned to

Abstract Aim The global distribution and diversity of mites, including the species rich and highly host plant‐specific eriophyoid mites, are important questions in biogeography and biodiversity conservation. Here we critique the paper of Li et al. (2023) titled ‘Global patterns and drivers of herbivorous eriophyoid mite species diversity’.

Erdei fa- és cserjefajok gubacsatkái (Acari: Eriophyoidea) [PDF]
A gubacsatkák a legkisebb méretű növényeken élősködő ízeltlábúak. Képviselőik megtalálhatók lágyszárú és fásszárú növények hajtásán, levelén, virágán és termésén. Tápnövényeik nagyobb része a fásszárúak közül kerül ki. A hazai erdők fa- és cserjefajain előforduló 238 gubacsatka fajból 45 idegenhonos.

Geotaxis and leaf-surface preferences mitigate negative effects of a predatory mite on an herbivorous mite. [PDF]
Reproductive success and population growth of an herbivorous mite are limited by activities of phytoseiid predators. However, occurrences on upper versus lower leaf surfaces are sometimes mismatched between these prey and predators.

Size of predatory mites and refuge entrance determine success of biological control of the coconut mite [PDF]
Published online: 06 July 2016Predators face the challenge of accessing prey that live in sheltered habitats. The coconut mite Aceriaguerreronis Keifer (Acari: Eriophyidae) lives hidden beneath the perianth, which is appressed to the coconut fruit ...

Eriophyoid mites (Acari: Eriophyoidea) associated with palm trees [PDF]
Information is presented on eriophyoid mites found on palm trees worldwide by different authors, including original data from a recent survey conducted in Brazil, Costa Rica and Mexico. For each species, information on synonymy, locations where it was found on palm trees, palm hosts, and damage are included. Sixty-two eriophyoid species from 31 genera,
