Erosive osteoarthritis (EOA) is believed to be a clinically uncommon subset of generalized osteoarthritis (OA) characterized by a clinical course, which is frequently aggressive. The diagnosis of EOA is accepted only for patients meeting American College of Rheumatology clinical criteria for OA of the hand and showing radiographic aspects of articular ...

The presence of erosive changes in the vulva, vagina, or both areas constitutes a major diagnostic and therapeutic challenge for clinicians. Often, biopsy is required to obtain an accurate diagnosis. Despite the wide differential diagnosis, therapeutic options often are limited, although new treatment modalities have been recently introduced.

Erosive osteoarthritis is a disorder that most often involves the hands of postmenopausal women. It can begin abruptly with pain, swelling, and tenderness. Distal interphalangeal joints are involved most frequently, followed by proximal interphalangeal joints. Occasionally there is metacarpophalangeal, carpal, or large joint involvement.

Wind erosion climatic erosivity
Climatic Change, 1986A physically based wind-erosion climatic factor has been derived: $$CE = \rho \int {[u^2 } - (u_T^2 + \gamma ^l /\rho a^2 )]^{3/2} f(u)du$$ where ϱ is the air density, a is a constant made up of other constants (von Karman, height of wind speed observation ...

Soil is a complex, constantly changing resource. It affects the life of plants and thereby all animals, and is affected by plants and animals. Soil is the primary medium of growth for plants. It supplies nutrients, water, and a place to anchor roots. Soil has an economic value, that with the most value being topsoil because it is the primary source of ...

Abstract This chapter discusses the erosion and erosion-corrosion behaviors of metals and alloys. It includes data primarily related to particle-laden gas streams impacting on the metal surface. It also covers properties and applications and provides guidelines for materials selection.

Erosion and Erosion Protection
2010One of the greatest challenges in the use of infrared windows and domes is to protect them from damage by particle impact. Collisions with raindrops are a problem at the velocities of airplanes and missiles. Figure 7.1 shows the damage to a missile dome after traversing a rainfield on the rocket sled in Fig. 7.2.
