Erosion Rates of Cohesive Soils
Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1978The objective of this paper is to describe the effects of the principal physical and chemical factors on the rate of erosion of saturated cohesive soils. It is hoped that this work stimulates more comprehensive laboratory and field measurements of the erosion of cohesive soils with a view of obtaining relationships for the erodibility in terms of ...

Erosion of cohesive sediments as a rate process
Ocean Engineering, 1979Abstract The problems associated with the erosion of cohesive sediment in the marine environment are well recognized. However, the mechanisms of controlling erosion are not well understood. The research to be presented was directed at characterizing the erosion resistance of cohesive sediment through the application of rate process and double layer ...

Erosion Rates Near Rome, Italy
Science, 1968Before man's intensive use of the land the rates of erosion near Rome, Italy, were approximately 2 to 3 centimeters per thousand years. With intensive occupation by man the rates have increased by an order of magnitude.

В процессах добычи и подготовки газа эрозия металла может происходить под действием песка, выносимого из продуктивного пласта при определенных режимах эксплуатации скважин. Определение степени влияния механических примесей на работу оборудования и газосборных сетей является сложной задачей.

Allowable soil erosion rates in Georgia
Eurasian Soil Science, 2013A procedure was proposed for the determination of the maximum allowable soil disturbance in Georgia in order to develop a strategy of soil conservation and restoration. The allowable soil losses were calculated within the risk limits of 0.01 < r < 0.1.

Erosion Rates from Badlands National Park
International Symposium on Erosion and Landscape Evolution (ISELE), 18-21 September 2011, Anchorage, Alaska, 2011Erosion rates from fossil-bearing strata at Badlands National Park in South Dakota (Figure 1) will be used to prepare an erosion model for paleontologists to utilize for management of fossil resources throughout the Park. Strata being monitored has been regarded as highly erodible, estimated at ~2.5 cm/yr, although no documented measurements have been ...

A fresh look at available estimates of the rates of erosion suggests that landforms have taken longer to evolve than has been thought.

Some Rates of Regional Erosion
The Journal of Geology, 1961Past and present rates of regional erosion are calculated for the Appalachian, Mississippi, and Himalayan regions. The present rate of erosion of the Mississippi region is about the same as the average rate during the last $150 X10^{6}$ years. The average rate of erosion of the Appalachian region during the last $125 X10^{6}$ years is 7.8 times as fast

Erosion rate measurements for GD-OES
J. Anal. At. Spectrom., 2003For GD-OES the sputtering rate of standard reference materials is needed for calibration purposes. A modern optical profilometer is used to measure 3D crater profiles. The crater volume, the erosion and the sputtering rate is calculated. A series of measurements was performed at reference materials and different plasma conditions.

Equation for high-rate gully erosion
CATENA, 2003An approach to gully erosion is presented in this paper. The approach is based on generalequations derived from theoretical considerations. The equations apply to a situation of intense erosion rate, such as at peak discharge during the few critical rainstorms, able to generate or to widen gullies.
