Rainfall erosivity in New Zealand
In a country, where rainfall can reach dimensions up to 10000 mm/year, water erosion is a very important task. This study aims to evaluate the spatial distribution of rainfall erosivity over the last decades and to produce a map of average annual rainfall erosivity for New Zealand.

Acid Sulfite Pulping of Hemp: Effects of Processing Conditions on Lyocell Pulp Quality
Industrial hemp is emerging as a promising renewable source for next‐generation textile fibers. This study evaluates whether acid sulfite pulping can produce hemp‐based dissolving pulp suitable for lyocell manufacturing. While the process is historically linked to increased cellulose accessibility, it did not achieve the low lignin content and ...

Disposition Model for Permafrost Degradation in Mountainous Regions
ABSTRACT Permafrost is a widespread thermal phenomenon in Arctic and high mountain regions that, in combination with steep terrain, exerts a key control on slope stability. Its degradation in response to climatic warming can modify the likelihood and timing of rockfall, debris flow and related mass movements. Robust information on the current state and

Tropical forests are rapidly declining. One promising strategy to reverse the loss of tropical forest is the establishment of agroforestry on open land. We combined interviews with biodiversity surveys to learn general lessons from success and nonsuccess stories of the establishment of open‐land‐derived coffee agroforests in one of the world's ...
