Water erosion is a time-varying processes controlled by both rainfall and overland flow. A better understanding of dynamic changes in the sediment load and size distribution with various erosive forces can help to develop and verify erosion models. Here,

Effects of rainfall intensity on runoff and sediment yields on bare slopes in a karst area, SW China
Geoderma, 2018Due to the impacts of global warming, extreme precipitation events are increasing in frequency and are accelerating the process of rocky desertification in the karst area in southwestern China.

RainfallErosivityFactor: An R package for rainfall erosivity (R-factor) determination
, 2020RainfallErosivityFactor is an R package developed as a tool for the analysis of rainfall data and the calculation of the R-factor, a relevant parameter for soil loss prediction due to water erosion.

Changes in the spatial and temporal features of rainfall patterns may have important effects on the magnitude and timing of erosive storms, which will in turn result in changes in landscape response. Mediterranean Europe regions are characterized by strong climatic variability, where dry periods are interrupted by pulsing rainstorms throughout the year.

Rainfall erosivity in Cape Verde
Soil and Tillage Research, 2000This paper presents rainfall erosivity values derived from a 7-year rainfall recording in the Cape Verde islands, Central East Atlantic. The data set consisted of 63 storm events, continuously registered in 15-min intervals. Kinetic energy of storm rainfall corresponded to established values in other tropical locations.

A model describing rainfall erosion over the course of a long time period is proposed. The model includes: (1) a new equation of detachment of soil particles by water flows based on the Mirtskhulava equation; (2) a new equation for the transport capacity of the flow based on a modified Bagnold equation, which is used in the AGNPS model; (3) modified ...

Although there are in existence numberless books, many of them of great excellence, dealing with the effects of denudation (Geomorphology) nevertheless long experience and much reading seem to show that the more descriptive side of the subject, the result of the processes, has received more attention than the actual mechanism by which the results have ...

Rainfall erosivity in Brazil: A review
CATENA, 2013article i nfo In this paper, we review the erosivity studies conducted in Brazil to verify the quality and representativeness of the results generated and to provide a greater understanding of the rainfall erosivity (R factor) in Brazil. We searched the ISI Web of Science, Scopus, SciELO, and Google Scholar databases and in recent theses and ...
