The polishing process of advanced ceramic balls using a novel eccentric lapping machine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The finishing process of advanced ceramic balls can be divided into two steps. The first step is lapping in which most of the stock from the ball is removed at a higher material removal rate.

Saliva Parameters and Erosive Wear in Adolescents [PDF]

open access: yesCaries Research, 2013
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between several parameters of saliva and erosive wear in adolescents. (Un-)stimulated saliva was collected from 88 adolescents with erosion and 49 controls (age 16 ± 1 years). Flow rate, pH and buffer capacity were determined immediately.

Integrated CFD and Theoretical Modeling of Erosive Wear in Composite Laminates

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal
The use of mathematical models and computational flow dynamics (CFD) in erosive wear studies can provide an approximation of the material performance under different conditions of the temperature, impact angle, and particle velocity. For this reason, the

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF EROSIVE WEAR ON THE HIGH CHROME CAST IRON IMPELLER OF SLURRY DISPOSAL PUMP USING RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Erosive wear occurs on the impeller and volute casing of the slurry disposal pump due to the impact of the ash particles on the impeller with a high velocity. Due to erosive wear, pump life become very short.
