Erotic Cities: Instrumental Anthropomorphism in Prince’s Compositions
Journal of African American Studies, 2017This chapter focuses on Prince's use of sexually charged lyrics and his erotic stage histrionics. His use of sexual metaphors—which embody what can be considered as synthetic human ejaculation—is evident within many of his earlier compositions between the years of 1980 to 1984. Indeed, his music is rife with sexual innuendo and eroticism.
