Tritoma subbasalis (Reitter, 1896) is known in Poland from a few localities in the northern and southeastern regions. Nine new Polish localities are provided. Tritoma subbasalis as a saproxylic beetle can survive only in old forests rich in deadwood, growing in fertile, humid stands. It develops on fungi infesting both living trees and deadwood.
