In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Measurements on pointing error and field of view of Cimel-318 Sun photometers in the scope of AERONET [PDF]
Sensitivity studies indicate that among the diverse error sources of ground-based sky radiometer observations, the pointing error plays an important role in the correct retrieval of aerosol properties.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Multi-class learning for vessel characterisation in intravascular ultrasound
In this thesis we tackle the problem of automatic characterization of human coronary vessel in IntravascularUltrasound (IVUS) image modality. The basis for the whole characterization process is machinelearning applied to multi-class problems.

Transitive Statistical Sensor Error Characterization and Calibration [PDF]
Calibration is the process of identifying and correcting for the systematic bias component of the error in the sensor measurements. On-line and in-field sensor measurement calibration is particularly crucial since manual calibration is expensive and sometimes infeasible.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Parametric characterization and error analysis of Hopkinson bar waveforms
The Hopkinson bar technique is an essential method for characterizing material dynamic properties. This study develops a parametric framework for stress waveform characterization, incorporating time-dependent markers (t0 to t3), amplitude-dependent ...
