All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

A Two-Step Motion Compensation Method for Polar Format Images of Terahertz SAR Based on Echo Data

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Terahertz synthetic aperture radar (THz SAR) has great potential in the field of remote sensing due to its high resolution and high frame rate. However, THz SAR is very sensitive to motion errors, making even small 2-D error caused by motion error and ...

Prospects of Electric Field Control in Perpendicular Magnetic Tunnel Junctions and Emerging 2D Spintronics for Ultralow Energy Memory and Logic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

Lateral error compensation for focus variation microscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Focus variation microscopy measures both the areal form and areal surface texture of components. Improvements to the accuracy and precision of focus variation microscopes usually requires measurements with multiple image-fields to compensate lateral ...

Decoupling Size and Electronic Effects in Doped SrTiO3 Photocatalysts Through Surface Area–Normalized CO2 Hydrogenation Rates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Exploring the photocatalytic reverse water–gas shift (RWGS) reaction on doped SrTiO3 nanoparticle films, reveals that normalizing catalytic rates by the catalyst's specific surface area (SSA) disentangled surface area effects from the catalyst's intrinsic material properties.

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...
