Software Error Compensation Research

1998
The technology of manufacturing accuracy has deep roots in American economic history. In the mid-19th century, British observers commented on a uniquely American approach to manufacturing, an approach referred to as the “American System of Manufacturing” (Rosenberg, 1972).

Error compensation of workpiece localization

Proceedings 2001 ICRA. IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (Cat. No.01CH37164), 2002
Workpiece localization has direct relations with many manufacturing automation applications. In order to gain accurate workpiece measurement by coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or on-machine measurement system, the touch trigger probe is widely adopted.

Accumulator-synthesizer with error-compensation

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Analog and Digital Signal Processing, 1998
A detailed analysis of the error behaviour of an accumulator-based frequency synthesizer is presented. It is shown that with some additional components, a reduction in error by a factor of 60 can be achieved.

Pulse error compensating symmetric magic-echo trains

Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2003
We present improved line-narrowing sequences for dipolar coupled spin systems, based on a train of magic-echoes which are compensated for the effects of finite pulse widths and utilize symmetry properties of supercycles. Sequences are introduced for spectroscopy and imaging by proper choice of a phase alternating scheme.

Compensation for correlated error in multilayer interferometer

Applied Optics, 2015
Wavelength tuning interferometry is used to measure and estimate the surface shape of a sample. However, in multilayer interferometry (e.g., a lithium niobate [LNB] crystal wafer attached to a supporting plate), the correlated error between the higher harmonics and the phase-shift error causes considerable error in the calculated phase.

Robot error compensation strategy based on error sensitivity

Measurement Science and Technology
Abstract Due to the errors in manufacturing and assembly, there are differences between the actual model and the theoretical model of the robot, which affects the positioning accuracy of the robot end-effector. In order to improve the accuracy of robot end-effector position, a robot error compensation strategy based on error sensitivity ...

Multijoint error compensation mediates unstable object control

Journal of Neurophysiology, 2012
A key feature of skilled object control is the ability to correct performance errors. This process is not straightforward for unstable objects (e.g., inverted pendulum or “stick” balancing) because the mechanics of the object are sensitive to small control errors, which can lead to rapid performance changes.

Compensation Effect and Experimental Error

Nature, 1973
Banks, Damjanovic and Vernon1 suggest that the observed compensation effect in the rates of some biological processes might be wholly artefactual. Their argument is one which would also apply to systems of purely chemical interest and raises the question of whether, in the inevitable presence of experimental errors, a true compensation effect is ever ...

Neighboring Extremal Control Design Using Error Compensation

Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 1995
Summary: Error compensation, which has been used to improve the performance of approximate analytical optimal controls, is extended to neighboring extremal control. The optimal control problem with error compensation is defined, the first variation conditions are linearized about an optimal path to account for perturbations in the initial state and the
