Decoding Schemes for Foliated Sparse Quantum Error Correcting Codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Foliated quantum codes are a resource for fault-tolerant measurement-based quantum error correction for quantum repeaters and for quantum computation.

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Research on time-division multiplexing for error correction and privacy amplification in post-processing of quantum key distribution

open access: yesScientific Reports
The post-processing of quantum key distribution mainly includes error correction and privacy amplification. The error correction algorithms and privacy amplification methods used in the existing quantum key distribution are completely unrelated. Based on

Triangular color codes on trivalent graphs with flag qubits

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
The color code is a topological quantum error-correcting code supporting a variety of valuable fault-tolerant logical gates. Its two-dimensional version, the triangular color code, may soon be realized with currently available superconducting hardware ...

Correcting Quantum Errors with Entanglement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We show how entanglement shared between encoder and decoder can simplify the theory of quantum error correction. The entanglement-assisted quantum codes we describe do not require the dual-containing constraint necessary for standard quantum error ...

Quantum Topological Error Correction Codes: The Classical-to-Quantum Isomorphism Perspective

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
We conceive and investigate the family of classical topological error correction codes (TECCs), which have the bits of a codeword arranged in a lattice structure. We then present the classical-to-quantum isomorphism to pave the way for constructing their

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Constructions of k-uniform and absolutely maximally entangled states beyond maximum distance codes

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Pure multipartite quantum states of n parties and local dimension q are called k-uniform if all reductions to k parties are maximally mixed. These states are relevant for our understanding of multipartite entanglement, quantum information protocols, and ...

Improved Successive Cancellation Flip Decoding of Polar Codes Based on Error Distribution

open access: yes, 2018
Polar codes are a class of linear block codes that provably achieves channel capacity, and have been selected as a coding scheme for $5^{\rm th}$ generation wireless communication standards.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.
