Controlling the Error Floor in LDPC Decoding [PDF]
The error floor of LDPC is revisited as an effect of dynamic message behavior in the so-called absorption sets of the code. It is shown that if the signal growth in the absorption sets is properly balanced by the growth of set-external messages, the error floor can be lowered to essentially arbitrarily low levels.

Improved decoding and error floor analysis of staircase codes [PDF]
Staircase codes play an important role as error-correcting codes in optical communications. In this paper, a low-complexity method for resolving stall patterns when decoding staircase codes is described. Stall patterns are the dominating contributor to the error floor in the original decoding method.

Effects of transport time and feeding type on weight loss, meat quality and behavior of broilers [PDF]
Objective The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal time of transportation of floor-feed and scatter-feed broilers. Methods Eighty healthy Arbor Acres (AA) broilers (21-day-old, 624.4 g, male, standard error = 6.65) were selected and randomly

Quasi-cyclic generalized ldpc codes with low error floors [PDF]
In this paper, a novel methodology for designing structured generalized low-density parity-check (G-LDPC) codes is presented. The proposed design results in quasi-cyclic G-LDPC codes for which efficient encoding is feasible through shift-register-based circuits. The structure imposed on the bipartite graphs, together with the choice of simple component
