Consistent Fundamental Matrix Estimation in a Quadratic Measurement Error Model Arising in Motion Analysis

open access: yes, 2002
Consistent estimators of the rank-deficient fundamental matrix yielding information on the relative orientation of two images in two-view motion analysis are derived.

Asymptotics for the Error Function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this chapter the asymptotic forms for the error function and the related function u(a) over the principal branch of the complex plane are regularised via Borel summation. The resulting equations are expressed in terms of a Stokes multiplier, which toggles between -1/2 and 1/2 for the different Stokes sectors. Numerical studies are then conducted for

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

Bayesian efficiency analysis with a flexible cost function [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
In this paper we describe the use of Gibbs sampling methods for drawing posterior inferences in a model with an asymptotically ideal price aggregator, non-constant returns to scale and composed error.

Shape derivative of an energy error functional for voids detection from sub-Cauchy data

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2016
We study a new framework for a geometric inverse problem in linear elasticity. This problem concerns the recovery of cavities from the knowledge of partially overdetermined boundary data.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Exploring the role of post-error processing in social anxiety across age

open access: yes
Background Error monitoring, a neurocognitive process reflecting self-detection of errors, has been proposed as a marker of social anxiety. However, the way in which this marker relates to social anxiety is not consistent across age, as older children ...

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
