MOGAD Is the Most Common Cause of Isolated Optic Neuritis in Children

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives The study aimed to characterize the clinical features, etiologies, and outcomes of isolated, first‐time pediatric ON in the post‐MOG‐IgG era. Methods This was a single‐center retrospective cohort study at Texas Children's Hospital of patients diagnosed with first‐time ON between 2018–2024, with follow‐up data collected through 2025.

Efficacy of Inebilizumab in N‐MOmentum Trial Participants With or Without Prior Immunosuppressants

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This post hoc analysis examined the impact of prior immunosuppressants on the long‐term efficacy and safety of inebilizumab, a cluster of differentiation 19+ B‐cell–depleting monoclonal antibody, in participants with aquaporin‐4–seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder from the N‐MOmentum trial (NTC02200770).

An empirical analysis of word error rate and keyword error rate

Interspeech 2008, 2008
This paper studies the relationship between word error rate (WER) and keyword error rate (KER) in speech transcripts and their effect on the performance of speech analytics applications. Automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems are increasingly used as input for speech analytics, which raises the question of whether WER or KER is the more suitable ...

Rating Disambiguation Errors

2012
Ambiguous notation is a powerful tool developed to deal with the complexity of mathematics without sacrificing clarity or conciseness. In the mechanized parsing of ambiguous terms, a disambiguation algorithm can be used to provide the system with the intelligence necessary to select valid interpretations for the overloaded symbols received in input.

The Error in ‘Error Rate’: Why Error Rates Are So Needed, Yet So Elusive

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2020
AbstractEstablishing error rates is crucial for knowing how well one is performing, determining whether improvement is needed, measuring whether interventions are effective, as well as for providing transparency. However, the flurry of activities in establishing error rates for the forensic sciences has largely overlooked some fundamental issues that ...

Benchmarking and medication error rates

American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 2016
NCC MERP and ISMP provide exemplary leadership in this area, including important policy suggestions. To be effective, benchmarking must include comparative measures of performance that are based on modifiable risk factors that cause the performance to suffer.

A Theory of Error-Rate Testing

2006 International Conference on Computer Design, 2006
We have entered an era where chip yields are decreasing with scaling. A new concept called intelligible testing has been previously proposed with the goal of reversing this trend for classes of systems which do not require completely error-free operation.

The Nearest Neighbor and the Bayes Error Rates

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 1987
The (k, l) nearest neighbor method of pattern classification is compared to the Bayes method. If the two acceptance rates are equal then the asymptotic error rates satisfy the inequalities Ek,l + 1 ¿ E*(¿) ¿ Ek,l dE*(¿), where d is a function of k, l, and the number of pattern classes, and ¿ is the reject threshold for the Bayes method.

The Error Characteristics of the Binary Rate Multiplier

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1969
The binary rate multiplier is a device which has been used for many years in hybrid computing (operational digital techniques) and control systems as a means for generating a pulse train of average frequency proportional to the value of a binary number stored in a register.
