Full-harmonic error separation technique

Measurement Science and Technology, 1992
The multistep error separation technique is able to separate full systematic spindle error and full roundness error of a workpiece in 1-500 undulations per revolution (UPR), perform digital filtering for both errors, and decrease the requirement of indexing accuracy for the indexing turntable.

Characteristics Identification of Straightness Error on Error Separation Technique

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
The straightness error was measured from a certain part surface by CMM. The paper expounded the principle of error separation technique, and separated the straightness error into deterministic error and random error. It proved strictly an opinion that random error is obedient to normal distribution.

Roundness Measurement and Error Separation Technique

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
A new three-point method for spindle roundness error measuring was introduced, three capacitive sensors were installed on the measured shaft circularly, and with a certain angle each other, while the spindle was rotating with a certain speed, the capacitive sensors had measurement on the circular profile simultaneously, then through linear combination ...

Separating erasures from errors for decoding

2008 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2008
Most decoding algorithms of linear codes, in general, are designed to correct or detect errors. However, many channels cause erasures in addition to errors. In principle, decoding over such channels can be accomplished by deleting the erased symbols and decoding the resulting vector with respect to a punctured code.

On separable error detection for addition

2013 Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2013
Addition is ubiquitous in computer systems, and rising error rates make error detection within adders increasingly important. This paper considers the best way to introduce strong, non-intrusive error detection to fixed-point addition within an existing, optimized machine datapath.

Five-point cylindricity error separation technique

Measurement, 2019
Abstract This study focuses on developing a new error separation technique for the in situ measurement and reconstruction of cylindrical profile. Based on a five-point system proposed, the center vectors of the least squares circle in the cross-sectional profile of the cylinder can are accurately extracted by the error separation model.

Cylindricity compound errors reversal separation method

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
Spatial rotation error of the spindle, straight movement error of the straight guide, parallelism error between the guide and the spindle are principle error sources for the cylindricity measuring instrument. It is a difficult problem all the time for high precision cylindricity measurement to separate synchronously and effectively the three errors ...

Novel Error Separation Method for Straightness Measurement

Key Engineering Materials, 2007
novel time-domain error separation method which can reconstruct straightness profile of workpiece exactly for on-machine measurement has successfully been developed. The proposed method is based on difference measurement and can use two or three displacement probes.
