Modelling the demand for loans to the private sector in the euro area [PDF]
This paper studies the determinants of loans to the private sector in the euro area. Using the Johansen methodology, the study identifies one cointegrating relationship linking real loans, GDP and interest rates.

Beamforming in MISO Systems: Empirical Results and EVM-based Analysis
We present an analytical, simulation, and experimental-based study of beamforming Multiple Input Single Output (MISO) systems. We analyze the performance of beamforming MISO systems taking into account implementation complexity and effects of imperfect ...

Digital Actuation Control of Soft Robotic Origami With Self‐Folding Liquid Crystal Elastomer Hinges
Self‐folding soft‐rigid hybrid robotic origami is enabled by liquid crystal elastomer actuators with embedded Joule heating and closed‐loop digital control. Digitally addressable hinges provide reversible and programmable transitions between distinct folded states while maintaining actuation performance at high cycle counts (over 1500).

The Sample Complexity of Dictionary Learning
A large set of signals can sometimes be described sparsely using a dictionary, that is, every element can be represented as a linear combination of few elements from the dictionary.

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

An Empirical Study of the Relationships between CO2 Emissions, Economic Growth and Openness [PDF]
This paper investigates the existence of the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) for carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and its causal relationships with economic growth and openness by using time series data (1971-2006) from China (an emerging market), Korea (

Micro‐injection laser‐assisted bioprinting enables ultrafast and precise patterning of small endothelial cell spheroids by injecting a highly concentrated single‐cell suspension into GelMA/ColMA hydrogels. In co‐culture with fibroblasts, controlled pre‐vasculogenic network formation is obtained at microscale resolution.

Spatiotemporal structure of foraging and path integration errors by fiddler crabs, Leptuca pugilator
Path integration is the navigational process by which animals construct a memory of a previous location by continuously measuring and summing their movements to form a single home vector pointing to the starting location. It is intrinsically error prone,

Stability analysis of the Toeplitz-like matrix by vector product (via FFT) [PDF]
In this paper the numerical stability of the Toeplitz-like matrix by vector product, performed via FFT, is analyzed. The error appears to depend on the magnitude of the generators of the matrix.

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.
