Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

All-optical phase regeneration with record PSA extinction ratio in a low-birefringence silicon germanium waveguide [PDF]
We report a low-power continuous wave-pumped phase sensitive amplifier (PSA)-based phase regenerator implemented in a passive silicon-based waveguide. A polarization assisted-PSA, consisting of two orthogonally-polarized pumps and a phase-locked signal ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Efficient frequency-domain channel equalisation methods for OFDM visible light communications [PDF]
The authors present efficient frequency-domain channel estimation methods based on the intra-symbol frequency-domain averaging (ISFA), minimum mean squared error (MMSE) and weighted inter-frame averaging (WIFA) schemes for the orthogonal frequency ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

An improved method of direct torque control of induction motor
In view of shortcomings of traditional direct torque control method of induction motor that torque and flux linkage have large pulsation and switching frequency is unfixed, the paper put forward an improved direct torque control method with space vector ...

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
