Molecular identification of anamorphic powdery mildews (Erysiphales)

New records for six species of powdery mildew fungi of the genus Leveillula G. Arnaud (Erysiphales) in the Right Bank of Steppe of Ukraine are presented. Two of the species, Leveillula lactucarum Durrieu et Rostam and L. verbasci (Jacz.) Golovin, are reported for the first time in the investigated region.

Revised Checklist of Powdery Mildews (Fungi: Erysiphales) from Nepal
Journal of Plant Resources, 2022The mycotaxa belonging to Erysiphales reported from Nepal since 1966, are revised based on 20 published papers. The recent moleculer and phyllogenetic analysis have done several changes in the nomenclature of several powdery mildew species reported earlier from Nepal. Some were erroneously reported, while some species have undergone synonyms.

Erysiphe kenjiana (Erysiphales), a new invasive fungus in Europe
Mycological Progress, 2009An Asian powdery mildew fungus Erysiphe (Uncinula) kenjiana (Erysiphales, Ascomycota) has been found in Ukraine. This is the first record of this fungus in Europe. In 2007, E. kenjiana was collected on four Ulmus species in Kiev. All locations adjoined railways or an airport. Development of E. kenjiana was epiphytotic.

Phyllactinia hippophaës (Erysiphales) rediscovered in Germany
2010The Erysiphales species Phyllactinia hippophaës Thuem. ex S. Blumer was found for the fi rst time on cultivated Sea Buckthorn (Hippophaë rhamnoides L.) near Großkayna (Saxony-Anhalt) in October 2009. This fungus was considered to be extinct in Germany.
