Erythrocyte Aggregation in Athletes
Human Physiology, 2003Erythrocyte aggregation (examined microscopically in diluted blood), lipid and protein plasma profiles, and fibrinolytic activity were studied in endurance athletes. Division of the athletes into two subgroups by cluster analysis showed that a higher level of fitness was associated with a lower plasminogen activity; enhanced fibrinolysis; increased ...

Determination of erythrocyte aggregation
Mathematical Biosciences, 1999One of the most common health criteria--erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)--is considered in the paper. It is shown that the simple model presented, based on the generalized Stokes formula, the blood volume conservation law, and the Smoluchowski theory of particles coagulation, makes it possible, on the basis of experimentally recorded sedimentation ...

Effect of desmopressin on erythrocyte aggregation
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2008Experiments on rats showed that desmopressin in doses recommended for single injections to humans increased erythrocyte aggregation. A close correlation between erythrocyte aggregation index and blood viscosity, on the one hand, and plasma content of acid glycosaminoglycans on the other was detected.

Here, ferric oxide loaded metal-organic frameworks (FeTCPP/Fe2O3 MOFs) nanorice was designed and constructed by liquid diffusion method. The introduction of iron metal nodes and the loading of Fe2O3 can effectively catalyze fenton reaction to produce ...

Rapid and effective hemostasis on irregular‐shaped non‐compressible bleeding wounds is still one of the key challenges in clinical practice. Herein, a novel multi‐functional microgel assembly powder (MAP) composed of oxidized dextran/methacrylate gelatin

Erythrocyte aggregation in relation to plasma proteins and lipids
Journal of Cellular Biotechnology, 2019In static or low-flow conditions erythrocytes form linear or three-dimensional aggregates with characteristic face-to-face morphology, similar to a stack of coins, often called rouleaux formation.

Methodological Aspects of Erythrocyte Aggregation
Recent Patents on Anti-Cancer Drug Discovery, 2007The aim of this paper is to analyze merits and demerits of methodological approaches designed for investigations of erythrocyte aggregation--a process, which plays a crucial role in rheological and transport properties of blood. Ideally, erythrocyte aggregation should be characterized in terms of the time-dependent gyration radius of the aggregates and

Erythrocyte: A systems model of the control of aggregation and deformability
Human erythrocytes are highly specialized enucleate cells that are involved in providing efficient gas transport. Erythrocytes have been extensively studied both experimentally and by mathematical modeling in recent years.

The influence of erythrocyte aggregation on induced platelet aggregation
Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation, 2010Red blood cells (RBCs) affect platelet aggregation in flowing blood (primary hemostasis). We tested the hypothesis that RBC aggregation could influence platelet aggregation. RBC aggregation was altered in vitro by: (i) changing plasma aggregatory properties with 3.7 g% dextran 40 (D40), 3.0 g% dextran 70 (D70) or 1.55 g% dextran ...

Protocol for Robust In Vivo Measurements of Erythrocyte Aggregation Using Ultrasound Spectroscopy.
Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology, 2017Erythrocyte aggregation is a non-specific marker of acute and chronic inflammation. Although it is usual to evaluate this phenomenon from blood samples analyzed in laboratory instruments, in vivo real-time assessment of aggregation is possible with ...
