Erythrocyte-Zn-protoporphyrin as an indicator of lead exposure

Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 1978
Measurement of erythrocte-Zn-protoporphyrin with a haematofluorimeter on blood samples from eighty-four lead-exposed individuals has been compared with a fluorimetric determination of the extracted porphyrins. The results agreed well, and the interference from bilirubin and unchelated protoporphyrin was low.

Erythrocyte indicators of oxidative stress in gestational diabetes

Acta Paediatrica, 1998
Foetuses born to mothers with gestational diabetes are at increased risk of developing respiratory distress, foetal macrosomia, foetal anomalies and platelet hyperaggregability. High blood glucose level induces oxidative stress and decreases antioxidant defences. The present study discusses the possibility of lipid peroxidation and protein oxidation in

Changes of erythrocytes, hemoglobin and erythrocyte indices in cats with enterocolitis of unknown etiology

Genetics and breeding of animals, 2023
Purpose: Study red blood parameters in a group of cats with enterocolitis of unknown etiology using standard hematological research methods.Materials and methods. During the study, standard methods of hematological analysis were used: erythrocyte counting was performed in a Goryaev chamber using whole blood diluted with isotonic sodium chloride ...

Nonequivalence of Automated and Manual Hematocrit and Erythrocytic Indices

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1980
Manual and automated (Coulter) methods for determining hematocrit and mean corpuscular volume (MCV) were compared using blood specimens in which normal erythrocytes had been serially diluted in their own plasma. Thus, predicted linearity of hematocrit and predicted constancy of the erythrocytic indices were evaluated by these technics.

Erythrocyte ATP (iATP) as an Indicator of Neonatal Hypoxia

1989
Neonatal hypoxia is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in new-borns (NB). Fetal asphyxia has traditionally been diagnosed and graded using clinical signs (meconium-staining, fetal bradycardia, Apgar score [1]) and biochemical parameters (pH, lactate [2]).

[Indications for the transfusion of erythrocyte concentrates].

Infusionstherapie und klinische Ernahrung, 1977
Whole blood transfusions as usual are often not effective. The high fluid level overloads the circulatory system and the share of red blood corpuscles improves the hematocrit inconsiderably. On the contrary after application of erythrocyte suspension which has reducted volume the hematocrit increases and risks of the circulatory system will be ...

[Erythrocyte indices in smokers and heroin addicts].

Minerva medica, 1981
Red blood cells values of 100 male heroin addicts, 100 male smokers and 100 normal men, all of like age, have been examined. Nearly all of the heroin addicts are heavy cigarette smokers. The GRC/mm3, Hb g%, Ht%, MCHC and MCV values did not show significant statistical differences between the three groups, except the MCV in the average appeared 2,8 mu3 ...
