Essential role of the coxsackie- and adenovirus receptor (CAR) in development of the lymphatic system in mice.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The coxsackie- and adenovirus receptor (CAR) is a cell adhesion molecule predominantly associated with epithelial tight junctions in adult tissues. CAR is also expressed in cardiomyocytes and essential for heart development up to embryonic day 11.5, but ...

Platelet Rubicon Bidirectional Regulation of GPVI and Integrin αIIbβ3 Signaling Mitigates Stroke Infarction Without Compromising Hemostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies Rubicon as a key platelet protein that bidirectionally regulates GPVI and integrin αIIbβ3 signaling. Platelet Rubicon protects against cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury by limiting infarction without increasing hemorrhage.

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

Structured Illumination-Based Super-Resolution Optical Microscopy for Hemato- and Cyto-Pathology Applications

open access: yesAnalytical Cellular Pathology, 2013
Structured illumination fluorescence microscopy utilizes interfering light and the moiré effect to enhance spatial resolution to about a half of that of conventional light microscopy, i.e. approximately 90 nm.

Regulating Tumor Metabolic Reprogramming with Biomimetic Co‐Delivery of Simvastatin and Kynureninase for Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After the intravenous injection of biomimetic and pH/ROS‐responsive PTSK@CRM, the nanoparticles can be accumulated in tumors and release Sim and KYNase to inhibit the tumor growth, regulate the metabolism of cholesterol and Kyn, and reverse the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.

Western Diet Inhibits FUT7‐Mediated Treg Intestinal Homing to Disrupt the Homeostasis of Intestinal Epithelial Cells in Crohn's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we constructed a nanoparticle that was CD4 antibody‐mediated targeted, Fut7‐expressing plasmid‐loaded cationic liposome, namely CD4‐LDP‐Fut7. Upregulation of Fut7 expression in Tregs by using CD4‐LDP‐Fut7 can increase Treg homing to the intestine, thereby facilitating repair of the intestinal epithelial barrier and inhibiting ...

Alteration in the number, morphology, function, and metabolism of erythrocytes in high-altitude polycythemia

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
Introduction: High-altitude polycythemia (HAPC) is a common chronic high-altitude disease characterized by significantly increased erythrocyte, hemoglobin (Hb), and hematocrit values and decreased arterial oxygen saturation.
