Prevalence and Predictors of Urinary Tract Infection and Severe Malaria Among Febrile Children Attending Makongoro Health Centre in Mwanza City, North-Western Tanzania. [PDF]
In malaria endemic areas, fever has been used as an entry point for presumptive treatment of malaria. At present, the decrease in malaria transmission in Africa implies an increase in febrile illnesses related to other causes among underfives.

This review highlights recent advances in engineering artificial antigen‐presenting cells (aAPCs) as alternatives to dendritic cells for T cell expansion. Key design principles inspired by the immunological synapse are discussed, with emphasis on strategies for polyclonal and antigen‐specific T cell expansion.

The temporary transition of macrophages from a pro‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M1) to an anti‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M2) is crucial for tissue repair and regeneration processes. Bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) are utilized as a “trojan horse” for specific M1 macrophage‐targeting and anti‐inflammatory drug delivery ...

In this article, Hojin Kim, Sayan Deb Dutta, and co‐workers report a shape‐reconfigurable, 3D printable, and highly adhesive slime‐like ‘electronic skin’ or ‘E‐skin’ patch for human health sensing and tissue engineering applications. The dual reinforcement of hydrogel patch with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) improve the ...

Lanthanide ytterbium ions are introduced into Bi2WO6 nanosheets to boost ROS generation under US stimulation. These ytterbium‐doped Bi2WO6 nanosheets serve as efficient sonosensitizers, enabling broad‐spectrum bacterial eradication. To improve biocompatibility for in vivo sonodynamic therapy, the sonosensitizers are integrated into hydrogel matrix ...
