Allergy, EarlyView.This study comprehensively characterizes non‐specific esophagitis and elucidates eosinophil‐independent fibrosis mechanisms. NSE appears to be a distinct fibrotic phenotype of the esophagus, without any considerable overlap with GERD and other chronic inflammatory disorders such as EoE or lymphocytic esophagitis.
