Observation of asphalt binder microstructure with ESEM
Journal of Microscopy, 2017SummaryThe observation of asphalt binder with the environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) has shown the potential to observe asphalt binder microstructure and its evolution with binder aging. A procedure for the induction and identification of the microstructure in asphalt binder was established in this study and included sample preparation ...

ESEM modifications to LEO SUPRA 35 VP FESEM
Micron, 2013A LEO SUPRA 35 VP FESEM has been modified to significantly improve image quality in the low pressure mode of operation. It is further shown that the same conversion can allow the machine to operate also as a fully fledged environmental scanning electron microscope with specimen chamber pressures in excess of 2000 Pa.

Electron scattering cross-section measurements in ESEM
Micron, 2013A review, analysis and discussion on the derivation and measurement of electron scattering cross-sections of gases mostly used in environmental scanning electron microscopy is presented together with some previously unreported experimental material. There are significant differences in values published for cross-sections of such gases.

The application of ESEM in dental materials research
Journal of Dentistry, 1996To describe the use of environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) to investigate acid etching of enamel and to comment on future applications of ESEM in dental materials research. The acid etching of axially fractured specimens of human enamel by a 35% (ortho) phosphoric acid etchant was observed using ESEM.Most of the etching action, as evidence

Cracking of Drying Latex Films: An ESEM Experiment
Langmuir, 2010In this study environmental scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the cracking of drying latex films below their glass-transition temperature. By controlling the relative humidity so that it decreases linearly with time, a critical level of humidity at which cracking occurs can be determined and this is measured as a function of film ...

Karakterizacija recikliranih vlakanaca ESEM metodom
2003U ovom radu prikazani su rezultati istraživanja karakterizacije površina recikliranih uzoraka nakon dezintegracije i flotacije. Jedna od metoda kojom možemo kvalitetno ispitati svojstva podloge je ESEM (Enviromental Scanning Electron Microscopy).

Electron Beam Profile in the ESEM
Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1988The examination of specimens in the presence of gas in the environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) requires the electron beam to pass through a minimum (optimum) 1ayer of gas before it strikes the specimen. The electron scattering by the gas molecules results in a modification of the original beam profile.
