Targeting Intratumoral Copper Inhibits Tumor Progression via p62‐Mediated EZH2 Degradation and Potentiates Anti‐PD‐1 Immunotherapy in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors find that by targeting intratumoral copper, they can enhance p62‐mediated ubiquitination of EZH2 at the Ub‐K63 site by suppressing copper binding to SMURF2, an E3 ligase of EZH2, leading to its autophagic degradation. This mechanism suppressed OSCC progression and potentiated anti‐PD‐1 immunotherapy, highlighting a potential new therapeutic

Unusual metastasis of esophageal cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Introduction. Carcinoma of the esophagus is in the eighth place by the frequency of malignant diseases and the sixth cause of death from cancer worldwide. It usually metastasizes to regional lymph nodes, liver, lungs, central nervous system, and

Life Factors and Melanoma: From the Macroscopic State to the Molecular Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Melanoma, an aggressive skin cancer, arises from dynamic interactions between genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. This review explores how age, gender, obesity, diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol, UV exposure, circadian rhythms, and medications influence melanoma risk and progression.

Transendoscopic laser ablation of an esophageal plasma cell tumor in a cat

open access: yesJournal of Feline Medicine and Surgery Open Reports
Case summary A 15-year-old male castrated domestic shorthair cat was presented for acute lethargy, vomiting and hyporexia. Abdominal and thoracic radiographs revealed a caudal thoracic/esophageal soft tissue opacity with concern for an esophageal mass or

Endoscopic and Oncologic Outcomes of Endoscopic Resection for Superficial Esophageal Neoplasm

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2015
Endoscopic resection (ER) of superficial esophageal neoplasm (SEN) is a technically difficult procedure. We investigated the clinical outcomes of ER for SEN to determine its feasibility and effectiveness.Subjects who underwent ER for SEN at Asan Medical Center between December 1996 and December 2010 were eligible.

Histone Lactylation‐Driven Upregulation of VRK1 Expression Promotes Stemness and Proliferation of Glioma Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive primary brain tumor, with glioma stem cells (GSCs) driving treatment resistance. This study reveals that lactate promotes histone lactylation (H3K18la) at the VRK1 promoter, regulating GSC stemness and proliferation via the H3K18la/VRK1/YBX1/SOX2 pathway. The VRK1‐targeted nanoliposome A/TMZ‐siVRK1 demonstrates

Snord15b Maintains Stemness of Intestinal Stem Cells via Enhancement of Alternative Splicing of Btrc Short Isoform for Suppression of β‐Catenin Ubiquitination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In intestinal stem cells (ISCs), Snord15b associates with Ilf2 to recruit splicing factors for alternative splicing of Btrc mRNA, leading to the generation of short Btrc. This short Btrc fails to form a functional E3 ubiquitin ligase complex for β‐catenin ubiquitination and degradation.
