The stent‐in‐stent technique involves placing another fully covered metal stent inside an irremovable embedded stent to compress tissue and enable safe removal. In this study of 17 patients, the overall technical success rate was 76.5%, with higher efficacy via EUS‐guided hepaticogastrostomy (100%) and transpapillary routes (80%).

Among endoscopic ultrasound–tissue acquisition (EUS‐TA) techniques, fine‐needle biopsy (FNB) provides higher specimen adequacy and diagnostic accuracy than fine‐needle aspiration (FNA).

ABSTRACT Objective Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)‐guided hepaticogastrostomy (HGS) in intrahepatic bile duct segment 3 (B3) is widely used for biliary drainage. Post‐puncture procedures are easy to perform in intrahepatic bile duct segment 2 (B2), but using a conventional oblique‐viewing (OV) scope (GF‐UCT260) may result in transesophageal puncture.
