Esophageal remodeling in pediatric eosinophilic esophagitis
Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 2007Eosinophils are associated with airway remodeling in asthma, but studies have not yet determined whether eosinophilic esophagitis (EE) is associated with esophageal remodeling. We performed quantitative immunohistochemical analysis of remodeling changes in esophageal biopsy specimens from children with and without EE to evaluate if there were changes in

Esophagitis and esophageal strictures
Veterinary Clinics of North America: Small Animal Practice, 2003Esophagitis and esophageal strictures are important causes of esophageal disease in dogs and cats. Esophageal function in esophageal atresia
Digestive Diseases and Sciences, 1981In order to determine the spectrum of esophageal dysfunction in repaired esophageal atresia, 14 patients were evaluated with esophageal manometry, intraluminal pH recording, and radiology. Nine patients had no difficulty in swallowing but six had symptoms suggestive of gastroesophageal (GE) reflux. On pH recording, six had evidence of GE reflux.

Esophageal dilation in eosinophilic esophagitis
Best Practice & Research Clinical Gastroenterology, 2015Tissue remodeling with scaring is common in adult EoE patients with long standing disease. This is the major factor contributing to their complaints of solid food dysphagia and recurrent food impactions. The best tests to define the degree of remodeling are barium esophagram, high resolution manometry and endoscopy.
